I just love being able to be close to my family...it doesn't happen too often when you live across the country. After we got back from Vegas everyone got back to their work and school schedules which left me alone for most of my time. So everyday I would take Stu (the family dog/smartest dog you'll ever meet) for a hike at Bartholomew park, go home and wait for my

mom to come home for lunch, then hang around for a bit more, then go for another hike at the overlook trail out of boredom. It would have been nice to have everyone on vacation to be able to spend more time together. We got to do some fun things together though...I chaperoned Wyn's 8th grade dance with my mom, we cooked dinner together, went wine tasting one day with Karley (who was in California staying with her brother in Berkley for a bit), went to Wyn's promotion ceremony and then out to dinner with the Nespurick/McVeighs (great family friends of ours!) and then went to

hang with some friends of Lil's in Santa Rosa, took a midnight bike ride with Wyn...it was a really nice relaxing trip at home. Here goes...

...I was having a hard time blogging towards the end of May because I wanted to keep writing about going home and how excited I was for my trip and being able to see everyone and I couldn't because the main purpose of the trip was to surprise Lily for her birthday Vegas trip. So now I can write ALL about it! I'll start by saying the trip was a success! I flew home the Wednesday before everyone was leaving for Vegas and stayed with Ashley since the surprise wasn't happening till we were actually in Vegas the next day. My mom and I flew out the next morning an hour before everybody else's flight so that we could get there and be ready for their arrival! We got in and went to Kahunaville where we would be waiting for the whole Vegas crew to get there. To surprise her one of the servers gave me a Kahunaville shirt to wear so that I could bring out Lily's birthday drink after everyone else got there's and then wait for her to realize it was me!!! She was completely surprised, it was wonderful! Everyone was wearing matching T-shirts for her birthday, I think she was having a really good time...I won't sit here and try to type out all the details of the trip, so I'll just give the main points. After the surprise we all went up to our rooms to refresh and get ready for our evening ahead. We went for cocktails and dinner at the Bellagio and then all us kids went to The Bank for dancing and more drinks! We had a GREAT night!

The next day we spent entirely by the pool...it was AMAZING!!! (I also think I got drugged at the concert, but that's a whole different story for another time)...the night was fun except for my little snag in the middle due do who knows what I got slipped at the concert!

The next day we just spent shopping and then in the evening we got dressed up (again) went and saw a Cirque show and then went out (again). What is up with that?!?! Every time I see a Cirque Du Solei, or any show for that matter, I always end up with a HUGE knot in my throat and tears in my eyes! I just find it amazing that I can be SO connected to an art form and the career I'm pursuing! Last night we had a little get together at Dallas BBQ (such a fun place for drinks and GREAT smelling BBQ...I say smelling because I've only smelt the BBQ being a vegetarian and all) and everyone was ordering their barbecue so I ordered a sensible steamed vegetable plate. It was my third day or easing out, so I could start having fruits and vegetables instead of just juices and let me tell you...WOW! Steamed vegetables have NEVER tasted SO good!!! AMAZING!

This cleanse has/is really giving me a new and improved outlook on food and eating. It's driving me to be such a better eater. Now that I know my body feels great even when I'm not full, or stuffed to the brim in most cases, I want to choose healthier, more body satisfying foods. As much as I'd like to eat all organic all whole grains, its really not realistic...I love things like pizza, burgers (veggie), french fries...you get the idea, and these foods you really need to just eat the real whole fat version otherwise you won't fulfill your craving. So now my plan is to let myself eat those favorite foods of mine, but only on occasion and now say "Okay, I'll have the pizza, but only a slice and then I'll have a salad to fill me up." <--- I realize how dorky this sounds but I'm fine with it. Anyway, the bottom line is that I'm on track this time to eat really good even with an occasional pizza binge ;)

In other food news, Jarran is coming over tonight for SUSHI!!!! We originally wanted to do these fresh fish tacos that we were going to make together, but we decided to just go with sushi it being so soon after my cleanse and all. I'm trying to stay away from so may carbs as to not put all the weight back on, so we're going to wait till he comes back to do the tacos (oh...he's leaving for a gig in Pittsburgh and won't be back till the endish of summer). So sushi it is! I can't wait! It will be my first actual meal that feels like a meal! I've only had steamed veggies, fruit, and a cup of butternut squash soup so bring ooooooon the sushi!!!

The Master Cleanse

So...my friends Danny and Marty did a cleanse about a month ago, and ever since I've wanted to do one. The one that Danny and Marty did was one you had to pay for so I had been meaning to look one up online to do when my mom called telling me that her and Lily were going to do "the master cleanse" and that I should do it with them. It's been around since the 40's and it's when all you have is about two liters of this Lemonade you make everyday (2 liters of water, 14 tablespoons of pure lemon juice, 14 tablespoons of pure maple syrup, and 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper). Anyway, I got the stuff and started Monday the 4th. The first day went great! The lemonade mixture isn't even as bad as it sounds...its just a spicy lemonade. About halfway through the second day my mom came down with the flu and had to stop the cleanse but my sister was still going strong. After my mom stopped I thought I wanted to stop and wait to start till after Brandon's birthday which was going to be on the following Saturday so I decided to have some chips and salsa...bad idea. As soon as I ate a few i decided that I was wrong and I didn't want eat, I wanted to complete this cleanse...so I went right back to my mystery juice. Then the very next day (Wednesday) Lily pooped out of the cleanse, so I was the only man left standing. Anyway, here I am now...FINISHED!!! And I feel GREAT! After doing this cleanse I can say it's a good one and well worth it! I didn't feel hungry the whole time I was on

it. Something about the Lemonade left me feeling satisfied. Don't get me wrong food looked great, smelt even better, and I wanted it bad, but not because I was hungry just because I wanted it. So I carried my little bottles of juice with me everywhere I went. Now I'm so glad I stuck with it and lasted till the end! I LOST 8 POUNDS!!! Can you believe it? Not only that, I feel great too! For those looking into doing a cleanse I would definitely recommend this one...I mean watch your body, only you know how you feel, but I had a wonderful time!

A little catch up.

Well I guess I should start where I left off right before our little housewarming extravaganza and try and fill in everything that I've been missing. Here goes...

1) Our housewarming was a HUGE hit!!! The house looked great and everyone had a wonderful time. I really think Brandon and I are succeeding on the feel we wanted our

apartment to have. Everyone kept talking about how cosy it felt, and how warm and inviting it was. We were very happy...and now we have all this left over booze from the party that never got drank. I'm going to end up like my parents who still have unfinished bottles of booze in the closet that I remember being there from when I was a little kid...ha ha ha. Anyways, the party ended in a big sleepover and breakfast in the morning. Success!

2) Karley moved in to the apartment to sublet Brandon's room and Brandon shortly headed off to Virginia Beach to do West Side Story opposite Taylor Frey (One of our Links from Hairspray...which is funny, cause Brandon and Taylor HATED each other while we were on tour. And I mean HAAAATED...and now after doing West Side they're best friends!)...anyway, Karley moved in and I started working at Starbucks almost right after the housewarming. It was super fun to have a girl roommate for awhile, and Karley and I luckily got along amazingly well as roommates! After we both got home from work in the evenings we would sit, chat, have some dinner, watch a show and then head to bed. It was nice to have girl time.

3) I went home for a quick little weekend vaca. I had a ticket that I had bought on Southwest Airlines a year ago and then had to cancel and now it had to be used by a certain date, so I just used it to fly home for a weekend...a SHORT weekend. I left on Saturday spent all Saturday traveling, got in late, ran around Sunday, ran around Monday, and then left early Tuesday morning, traveled all day, and got home late Tuesday night.

It was the GREATEST trip!!! Sunday I got up and went for an early hike with my girlfriend Ashley (best friend since 7th grade, is in a twisted way my cousin...she's family!) came home and went for a walk with my mom, then shopping with

Lil, and finally dinner with Dave. On Monday I had early morning coffee, then got ready and met my friend Seth (met him when I did Beauty and the Beast at Solano College) and then Seth and I drove the San Francisco to have lunch with Lil and do a little shopping, after that we drove home for dinner with the family, and then Wyn and I went on a midnight bike ride. So it was two full FULL days. It really was such a fun trip however short it may have been.

4) Then Brandon came home, I started a cleanse (which I'll write a whole separate blog about...there's just too much to say), and Karley left :(. Its been quite the full month, but a lovely one. When Brandon got back, we had about a day of adjusting till we were right back to our normal Brandon and Aubrey selves. It's nice to have my little domestic partner back.

5) Finally, this weekend was Brandon's birthday and we had quite the going out of Friday and Saturday nights! Friday after I got off work, we got ourselves ready and headed to Rocket over on 55th between 7th and Broadway where they have open bar from 10:00 to 11:00...great huh? I however had a bottle of mystery juice (the name we gave my lemonade I drank for the cleanse) with me at all times,

so there were no free drinks for me. After that we went to Therapy to ring in Brandon's actually day and then to Vlada where we ended the night. We stopped to grab pizza on the way home which is when I realized just how WAAAAAASTED Brandon was. I'm talking the drunkest I've ever seen him...it was amazing. I basically had to carry him home. He had the best birthday EVER!

Then on his actual birthday, I made him French Toast for breakfast, and a fabulous cake for the evening...that night

we had a few friends over for cake and drinks and then went out to paint the town which also turned into a super fun night! We went to HK and just danced all night...so fun. I'm glad it was a successful 24th birthday!

So there you have it...all caught up! After we had the housewarming party Karley moved in, I started working, Brandon left, and well I guess blogging just slipped my mind. Also, I had no idea i had people reading my blog (thanks celest-sm, mom, Gui Viotti, etc.)! Wow, how fun! So I'm sorry to those of you that have been anxiously waiting to hear what came next.

Well I'm in Sonoma right now visiting my family and a few friends so I'm gonna make this a short one. I'm only home for two short days and trying to cram as much fun in as I can possibly squeeze! So here's a little update, I'll be sure to post again when I get back to the city complete with fun pictures...

We had a GREAT housewarming, Karley is now living in Brandon's room till the 3rd of May, craft night is still quite a success, I'm working back at a Starbucks, and I finally met up with my girlfriend Mia (friend from a show I did my first year of college...LOVE her!). So things are still going very well!

...And I promise I'll post again when I get back to the city...it may have to come in installments, but it will happen! Dawn O'Neil (a big business woman from back home in Sonoma that I used to nanny for) came into New York with one of her daughters (Katie) so that she could take her to see a specialist on Staten Island, and then a few of her own girlfriends. So while they were here, I hung

around with Katie so that the big kids could go shopping and such. It was great...I got to make money for just hanging around with a cute little 6 year old. It wasn't an easy job though let me tell you; Dawn got us a car to take us around everywhere Katie wanted to go, we ordered room service all the time, went to Magnolia bakery, went to the natural history museum...so as you can see it was a tough weekend.

Dawn's coming back at the end of April as well so it will be nice to see them again at that time. Maybe even both of the girls! Then a week after that I'm headed home for a quick little unexpected visit. ...So I had this ticket that I bought for a trip to Vegas in May last year with family for someone's 21st (I can't remember whose) and then had to cancel the ticket cause the trip got canceled. Big bummer! So I was gonna try to use it for my sisters 21st this year, but because I bought it in April that is when I have to use it by. Anyway I can't use it to make it for her birthday, but I figured out a way to just use it to head home for a quick weekend. Great news!!! Sonoma here I come!

This weekend should be fun also! Brandon and I are having our big House Warming Extravaganza, I can't wait. We're planning food and drinks and things so we've gotta get out and shop for everything. It will probably happen tomorrow (Friday) I'm thinking...at least I hope. I don't wanna be cooking everything too late, I'd like to have as much of it done as possible before Saturday. It'll all come together though I'm sure.

Nothing but good things!

Hairspray in New Brunswick

HAIRSPRAY WOW! The show sounded amazing and everything looked great! It was nice to be able to go back and really enjoy the show, but not be sad and wishing it was me up there the whole time. I guess when I finished tour back in July I was done and ready to move on. I miss it, but in a very healthy way. I don't think you can do a show like Hairspray and not miss it.

After the show Amy, Brandon, and I waited outside the stage door like the dorky anxious fans we are so that we could say hi to all of our old 'Spray lovers...Sarah (Brenda), Lindsey (Lou Ann/Dance Captain), and especially Zach (Brad/friend from California/old roommate) and Ken (Sketch/Zach's current roommate/my husband...well not really, but one of those running joke things). Oh how I miss them all!!! Once they got out and we had our fill of hugging, the cast had a little party upstairs, so we got to hang out and mingle with free wine and food...what more could you ask for?!?! Ken and I were practically glued at the hip the whole time. I hadn't seen him in forever! Anyway, after the little cast party was over...all the food and wine was gone...we all went to this club called Glo, hung there for awhile longer and then Brandon and I

headed home with Lindsey, Sarah, and Amber (the current Penny) in tow. I really was having so much fun and wish we could have stayed longer, but we needed to get back to the city. Anyway, it was a fun time!

...In other news, I feel like Zach and my friendship is back on track!!! While we were on Hairspray together we hit a little snag in our friendship. I guess rooming together on tour just didn't work for us, it created a lot of tension. At the end of the time we were on tour together we talked it out, said our apologies, and things were fine, but still not like what they were. Then I stayed with him on my trip through NY after traveling through Asia and that was even better. Now seeing him this time was FAB! I felt like our friendship was right back where it needed to be. I love that kid!

The 'Spray goes on a break in about another week, so I can't wait to see them all again. They're going to miss our house warming, so we'll probably have them over for a little repeat party. Should be a good time!

Alright...well that's enough babbling for now. I'm already taking ballet pretty regularly, but this is a hip-hop funky class which is exactly what I need. I have a hard time letting go and just dancing. I tend to think everything through too much and then the dancing doesn't come through the way it should. The times I've taken this class I could feel it loosening me up, so I'm gonna continue to take it as much as I can. Abby (the fierce dance teacher/lawyer by day) does all these sexy combinations a la Britney Spears/Pussycat Dolls/you get the idea, and she even said I looked sexy and slutty which is a great compliment being as I usually look like I'm having a seizure when I try to look sexy funky. So there you have it!

Second, our craft night was a huge success!!! We had great attendance and so many crafts were made! It was Marty, myself, Brandon, Danny (one of Brandon's besties turned my favorite and another stupidly talented friend of ours), Brittney and Hilary (the Hancock sisters...Brittney is Danny's roommate and friend from High School and Hilary is her younger sister who lives across the hall from them) We all had so much fun just hanging out and entertaining ourselves with crafts...I made a tote bag (which I'm thinking about changing the

colors on so that when I leave it out it matches the colors of my room), I made my crafting princess crown, and I started to make a button! Brandon, a first time craft club guest, made a lovely frame that is now hanging on our chalk/magnet wall in the kitchen. Hilary also made a tote bag for a friend of hers, Marty decorated his crafting hat and Brittney made a frame and decorated our Craft Club Bible. This Craft Club is turning into such a funny, kitchy, fun weekly event. I really think its such a good thing, it's a group of creative people getting together once a week to expel some creative energy and be around good people for a fun reason! I'm really glad we started it, it's a fun thing to have to look forward to.

In other news, Brandon and I are finally having our house warming party! We've been here since January 6th and now on April 4th we're FINALLY having our house warming...you think it took us long enough? Well I guess we were kind of waiting for things to come together a little more in the apartment before we had lots of people over. So now that we finally have a couch, and kind of a table, we're throwing a party! We're gonna have lots of good food, some drinks, good music, great friends, fun fun FUN! His family is also gonna come and help us out a bit so that will be really nice. I'm very excited, it should be fun!

As for tonight, we're off to see the 'Spray kids in New Brunswick, NJ. I can't wait! I'm excited to see everyone, and see the show and what they've done with it. After the show we're all going to some club in Jersey to hang out. Amy (my friend/Tracy/Tracy cover that was on Hairspray with me) organized everything since she's from Jersey. So it will be nice to go back, see everyone and have a little reunion...

...fun memories!

Cute and Cozy

We're a HIT! Last night we had a little unexpected gathering at our apartment with Tommaso (our friend and my former roommate from Hairspray), his friend Patrick and then Karley came by for a bit as well. I've had Karley over a few times and Jarran's been here also, but this was the first time we've had a group of people all sitting on the couch together...and let me tell you it was a success! We had the lights set at a lovely and inviting low glow, which is possible thanks to my roommate dubbed domestic partner who ever so graciously installed dimmers in our apartment (I'm telling you, Brandon and I are like a damn married couple), and had my essential oils burning so the rooms smelt like lavender. After Tommaso and Patrick got the tour of the apartment and we were all lounging on the couches having some wine (in our new wine glasses...it was their debut) Tommaso and Patrick kept commenting on how cute the apartment was and how cozy it all felt. BINGO!!! Brandon and I achieved our goal and we're not even close to finished with the apartment...its still quite a work in progress. It was true though, it was so cozy and

welcoming, I just couldn't be happier with them. The way they're set up is just perfect for a group of people all sitting together because everyone is facing each other instead of being on opposite ends of opposite couches. Everybody is snuggled up together...its great! Now remember we still plan on getting a rug, curtains, throw pillows, and wall art, so considering all that I'm excited that we're already being considered cozy. Yay!

Alright, enough with the couches...last night was fun, we had a really good time just hanging out all together end of story. This evening should be quite fun as well! IT'S THE SECOND WEEKLY CRAFT CLUB NIGHT! Ha ha ha ha...so Marty (my amazingly talented friend/Mr. Broadway/crafting king) and I decided to start a craft club that meets weekly to do a craft. Now let me start out by telling you that Marty and I share the same birthday (August 25th) so we also share many of the same quirks. We both have a love for organizing things, we like to host, we're very creative and like to craft (hence a craft club), and we're both just active, high energy people in general. So this idea came out of us planning our joint birthday party...PROM (which is gonna have to be another blog entirely)...when we began chatting about how we love organizing things and then we got into crafting and that somehow turned into a craft club. I guess it doesn't really matter how it got created, just the fact that it got created is amazing enough. So we're now a craft club that meets weekly with a new craft. We also have duties that each craft club member performs such as bringing a snack, craft supplies...you know. Quite funny huh? Anyway, I can't wait for tonight, it should be loads of fun!

Time to start my big day I have ahead of me...blogging (done), grocery shopping, dishes, cooking, dance class with the boys again, and craft night! FUN FUN FUN!!!

11:00 P.M.?!?!?!?!?

This is not okay! I got up this morning at 5:00 a.m. so that I could get myself ready and get to Nola Studios around 6:00 a.m. to sign up. When I got there at 6:13 a.m. I was number 106!?!?!?! WHAAAAAT?!?! Wrong, just wrong! First of all, auditions are usually at 10:00 a.m. and sign ups are listed to begin at 9:00 a.m...so somehow over the years girls have gotten there earlier and earlier so they can be sure to get themselves a number on the list that will get them seen. This is a pain in the butt and really frustrating, but it is what it is so there's nothing you can do other than to get up early like the rest of them and get your name on the list. Everything this audition season have been pretty crazy. Due to the state of the economy there are many theaters and companies that have shut down, therefore more actors out of work that are looking for work. Needless to say auditions have been PACKED! When I arrived this morning I knew I wouldn't be the first on the list, but I figured I would have a reasonable number. WRONG! Anyway, once they opened the building (that's right, we get there and the building isn't even open for us to sit inside, we put our names on a sheet of binder paper that was ripped out of someones notebook...janky) and after waiting around upstairs for the monitor to get there and start reading off the unofficial list, we came to find out that the first person on the list had gotten there at 11:00 P.M. the night before! NOT FAIR!!! You can't just post a list the night before to sign up for an audition that starts the next day! Things just don't work like that. Maybe its just me, but I feel like that's cheating. If you wanna be first get up early like the rest of us. Don't sign up the night before so that you can sleep in the next day!

Well, after all of that I didn't even get seen. I'm not really sure why they did what they did...they only made appointments up to 11:00 a.m. and then they collected everyone elses headshots and resumes and typed from that. Which is also frustrating because I would have gotten seen had they continued to make appointments! Soooooo I got typed out of a season that includes Hairspray.....I'm so confused.

In conclusion, I'm going to take a nap.

What's wrong with my picture!?!

A facebook profile picture is supposed to be a picture of you looking beautiful, a great time you had, something funny, funny faces, you know the gig. Lots of people put pictures of themselves and friends as their profile pictures, I however put pictures of just me up. It's not vanity I promise, it's just a habit I've gotten myself into. I think its because 1) I have pictures of my and friends all over my facebook anyway so its a place for just me, 2) it's the only picture people can see if they're searching for me and it just makes things clearer and 3) you never know if the future love of my life could see my picture and think "that is the woman I'm going to marry" ha ha ha (I understand that number 3 is a little far fetched and creepy cause I don't think I'd date someone I met on facebook, but who knows and I needed a number 3) Anyway, this is besides the point...I posted a picture of my face as my profile picture (the one to the left) and got some negative reactions. I just don't see what's wrong with the picture. It's just a picture of my face right? I understand that its kind of a deer in headlights look, but it's still just my face. I mean it looks like me, it doesn't distort my face or anything...I just don't see the creepiness of the picture I guess. I'm not offended at all really, the people that commented weren't jabbing at me, I know they weren't, it's simply the picture. I think it's funny people were so put off by this picture. Go figure...hmmm...

Moving on. Brandon comes home today. He's been gone since Thursday and it's been quiet having this big apartment all to myself. I was sick with a cold and just made myself soup and watched movies so that I could get better. It was probably a good thing that Brandon wasn't here to catch my cold cooties, I never would have heard the end of that. So that's really all that has happened. I went to an audition today, I'm going to another one tomorrow as well as going by Starbucks to meet with the district manager and be "officially" hired. As for tonight, my friend/neighbor/audition buddy Karley and I are going to explore a pub in our neighborhood to grab a drink to celebrate her first night off in FOREVER! But before that its time for me to take a nap since I got up at 5:30 in the flipping a.m!!!!!! Aubrey's a sleepy girl...nightie night.

Here we go...

Hello!!! To start, I guess I should tell you I'm not a seasoned writer, I just thought it would be nice to start a blog where I could have a creative or just plain old output for thoughts and ideas that run through this little brain of mine. Its also a nice way for those of you keeping up with me and this crazy dream of mine that I'm following here since I'm not the greatest when it comes to the phone...I guess I should give you a little background though since this is a first blog entry and all.

I'm a 23 year old girl living in the Big Apple pursuing even BIGGER dreams! ...I'm an actress. I moved out here at the beginning of January with my friend Brandon who I met when I was with the national tour of 'Hairspray' (amazing experience). He found us our lovely little apartment here in Queens and I helped as much as I could while I was home in California with my family for the Holidays. This is both of our first apartment and we're getting along amazingly well! Seriously, we agree on almost everything. We knew we would get along and do well as roommates since when you're on tour you travel, work, eat, etc. together and we got along just fine and hung out together quite often. I think we both thought there would be a few snags along the way especially since we a both such strong personalities with strong opinions of things. Still this rooming situation we've signed ourselves into is really working out for us, we're like a married couple...we're our own little Will and Grace.

I swear, if you filmed our lives, the two of us together, you could EASILY make a hit of a reality show! It's pretty comical.

Other than living with my clown of a roommate, since I got to the city I've been job searching, auditioning, and as of March gotten back to dance. Auditions are fine, there have been a few callbacks, but nothing that has led to any jobs yet. My confidence and skill at auditioning is getting better and better with each one, so none of them have been a waste of time. I finally hunted down a regular job after all the hiring freezes that have been going on due to the state of the economy. I'm going to be working at Starbucks again after I meet with the District Manager and he gives the okay to officially hire me. It will be nice to have a somewhat concrete schedule, although it has been nice to be able to dance whenever I want and not have to fit it in somewhere. Still, its nice to have a schedule sometimes. I'll still be able to keep dancing regularly, and boy has that been nice! Its nice to finally feel those muscles again and know that things are falling back into place. I guess that's about it for now, this is becoming quite an epic first blog. I know there is much more that has happened and is currently happening, but I'll save it for later.

Everything is wonderful, I'm very happy. Even though things get doubtful and scary sometimes, I know I'm right where I want and need to be. All these feelings are just a part of it all. I miss my family and friends from home, but will be there soon enough.
