Home sweet home.

It's so nice to be home. I just love being able to be close to my family...it doesn't happen too often when you live across the country. After we got back from Vegas everyone got back to their work and school schedules which left me alone for most of my time. So everyday I would take Stu (the family dog/smartest dog you'll ever meet) for a  hike  at Bartholomew  park, go  home and  wait  for  my
mom to come home for lunch, then hang around for a bit more, then go for another hike at the overlook trail out of boredom. It was really nice. Especially with a view of Sonoma to stare at once you reach the top...you can't really go wrong! It would have been nice to have everyone on vacation to be able to spend more time together. We got to do some fun things together though...I chaperoned Wyn's 8th grade dance with my mom, we cooked dinner together, went wine tasting one day with Karley (who was in California staying with her brother in Berkley for a bit), went to Wyn's promotion ceremony and then out to dinner with the Nespurick/McVeighs (great family friends of ours!) and then went  to
hang with some friends of Lil's in Santa Rosa, took a midnight bike ride with Wyn...it was a really nice relaxing trip at home. I didn't want to come back!

Alas...I had to. And unfortunately shortly after I came home my computer crashed which was a giant strain on my mood and state of mind...it was all sorted out, but I still am without a computer just making do with what I can until I have some more money to get everything fixed.

Alright, enough with the business of catching up. It's time to start blogging about the things that I'm wanting to express and vent about...Which was the whole point to this blog of mine in the first place...next time I promise!

Vegas Baby!

There is much to be said for all that has happened between my last post and now, so all of this catch up may be coming in installments. Here goes...

...I was having a hard time blogging towards the end of May because I wanted to keep writing about going home and how excited I was for my trip and being able to see everyone and I couldn't because the main purpose of the trip was to surprise Lily for her birthday Vegas trip. So now I can write ALL about it! I'll start  by saying the trip was a success! I flew home the Wednesday before everyone was leaving for Vegas and stayed with Ashley since the surprise wasn't happening till we were actually in Vegas the next day. My mom and I flew out the next morning an hour before everybody else's flight so that we could get there and be ready for their arrival!  We got in and went to Kahunaville where we would be waiting for the whole Vegas crew to get there. To surprise her one of the servers gave me a Kahunaville shirt to wear so that I could bring out Lily's birthday drink after everyone else  got there's and then wait  for her to  realize it was me!!! She was completely surprised, it was wonderful! Everyone was wearing matching T-shirts for her birthday, I think she was having a really good time...I won't sit here and try to type out all the details of the trip, so I'll just give the main points. After the surprise we all went up to our rooms to refresh and get ready for our evening ahead. We went for cocktails and dinner at the Bellagio and then all us kids went to The Bank for dancing and more drinks! We had a GREAT night!
The next day we spent entirely by the pool...it was AMAZING!!! We had a cabana and everything! After our elegant poolside lounging we went to the buffet (of course) and then went back to the room to change for the night....Pepper/Pennywise concert and then the Thunder Down Under!!! Amazing!!! (I also think I got drugged at the concert, but that's a whole different story for another time)...the night was fun except for my little snag in the middle due do who knows what I got slipped at the concert!
The next day we just spent shopping and then in the evening we got dressed up (again) went and saw a Cirque show and then went out (again). But lets talk about the show for a minute here...since this blog is supposed to be about my dream and the life I'm living in the meantime...I ALWAYS CRY!!! What is up with that?!?! Every time I see a Cirque Du Solei, or any show for that matter, I always end up with a HUGE knot in my throat and tears in my eyes! I just find it amazing that I can be SO connected to an art form and the career I'm pursuing! Moving on...here are the pictures from that day...

Then finally the last day, Mom, Lily, and I just shopped around until we had to catch our flight. It was a really fun time! I think everyone, especially Lily, enjoyed Vegas!

...and there's more to come later about my time at home...be patient with me, my computer crashed so I'm having to borrow computer time from friends and roommates...till next time. XO

A few quick thoughts.

It's late, I'm very tired, and I REALLY need to go to bed right this second, buuuuuut...I have lots of things in my head and wanted to make a quick note before I hit the hay. Things are going very well. I'm feeling healthy and energized as ever since the cleanse. I'm still eating great and dropping this extra weight! I'm very excited for things to come and have lots of plans for June both socially and career wise. Can't wait to blog about everything in more detail tomorrow...or Monday...okay so we'll just say soon!

Nightie night!

SOLID FOODS!

I cannot even begin to say how amazing it was to have solid foods and not fruit juices for the first time in two weeks! Last night we had a little get together at Dallas BBQ (such a fun place for drinks and GREAT smelling BBQ...I say smelling because I've only smelt the BBQ being a vegetarian and all) and everyone was ordering their barbecue so I ordered a sensible steamed vegetable plate. It was my third day or easing out, so I could start having fruits and vegetables instead of just juices and let me tell you...WOW! Steamed vegetables have NEVER tasted SO good!!! AMAZING!

This cleanse has/is really giving me a new and improved outlook on food and eating. It's driving me to be such a better eater. Now that I know my body feels great even when I'm not full, or stuffed to the brim in most cases, I want to choose healthier, more body satisfying foods. As much as I'd like to eat all organic all whole grains, its really not realistic...I love things like pizza, burgers (veggie), french fries...you get the idea, and these foods you really need to just eat the real whole fat version otherwise you won't fulfill your craving. So now my plan is to let myself eat those favorite foods of mine, but only on occasion and now say "Okay, I'll have the pizza, but only a slice and then I'll have a salad to fill me up." <--- I realize how dorky this sounds but I'm fine with it. Anyway, the bottom line is that I'm on track this time to eat really good even with an occasional pizza binge ;)

In other food news, Jarran is coming over tonight for SUSHI!!!! We originally wanted to do these fresh fish tacos that we were going to make together, but we decided to just go with sushi it being so soon after my cleanse and all. I'm trying to stay away from so may carbs as to not put all the weight back on, so we're going to wait till he comes back to do the tacos (oh...he's leaving for a gig in Pittsburgh and won't be back till the endish of summer). So sushi it is! I can't wait! It will be my first actual meal that feels like a meal! I've only had steamed veggies, fruit, and a cup of butternut squash soup so bring ooooooon the sushi!!!

The Master Cleanse

So...my friends Danny and Marty did a cleanse about a month ago, and ever since I've wanted to do one. The one that Danny and Marty did was one you had to pay for so I had been meaning to look one up online to do when my mom called telling me that her and Lily were going to do "the master cleanse" and that I should do it with them. It's been around since the 40's and it's when all you have is about two liters of this Lemonade you make everyday (2 liters of water, 14 tablespoons of pure lemon juice, 14 tablespoons of pure maple syrup, and 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper). Anyway, I got the stuff and started Monday the 4th. The first day went great! The lemonade mixture isn't even as bad as it sounds...its just a spicy lemonade. About halfway through the second day my mom came down with the flu and had to stop the cleanse but my sister was still going strong. After my mom stopped I thought I wanted to stop and wait to start till after Brandon's birthday which was going to be on the following Saturday so I decided to have some chips and salsa...bad idea. As soon as I ate a few i decided that I was wrong and I didn't want eat, I wanted to complete this cleanse...so I went right back to my mystery juice. Then the very next day (Wednesday) Lily pooped out of the cleanse, so I was the only man left standing. Anyway, here I am now...FINISHED!!! And I feel GREAT! After doing this cleanse I can say it's a good one and well worth  it!  I didn't  feel hungry the  whole time I was on
it. Something about the Lemonade left me feeling satisfied. Don't get me wrong food looked great, smelt even better, and I wanted it bad, but not because I was hungry just because I wanted it. So I carried my little bottles of juice with me everywhere I went. Now I'm so glad I stuck with it and lasted till the end! I LOST 8 POUNDS!!! Can you believe it? Not only that, I feel great too! For those looking into doing a cleanse I would definitely recommend this one...I mean watch your body, only you know how you feel, but I had a wonderful time!

A little catch up.

Well I guess I should start where I left off right before our little housewarming extravaganza and try and fill in everything that I've been missing. Here goes...

1) Our housewarming was a HUGE hit!!! The house looked great and everyone had a wonderful time. I really think Brandon  and  I are  succeeding on  the feel we wanted  our
apartment to have. Everyone kept talking about how cosy it felt, and how warm and inviting it was. We were very happy...and now we have all this left over booze from the party that never got drank. I'm going to end up like my parents who still have unfinished bottles of booze in the closet that I remember being there from when I was a little kid...ha ha ha. Anyways, the party ended in a big sleepover and breakfast in the morning. Success!
2) Karley moved in to the apartment to sublet Brandon's room and Brandon shortly headed off to Virginia Beach to do West Side Story opposite Taylor Frey (One of our Links from Hairspray...which is funny, cause Brandon and Taylor HATED each other while we were on tour. And I mean HAAAATED...and now after doing West Side they're best friends!)...anyway, Karley moved in and I started working at Starbucks almost right after the housewarming. It was super fun to have a girl roommate for awhile, and Karley and I luckily got along amazingly well as roommates! After we both got home from work in the evenings we would sit, chat, have some dinner, watch a show and then head to bed. It was nice to have girl time.

3) I went home for a quick little weekend vaca. I had a ticket that I had bought on Southwest Airlines a year ago and then had to cancel and now it had to be used by a certain date, so I just used it to fly home for a weekend...a SHORT weekend. I left on Saturday spent all Saturday traveling, got in late, ran around Sunday, ran around Monday, and then left early Tuesday morning, traveled all day, and got home late Tuesday night.

It was the GREATEST trip!!! Sunday I got up and went for an early hike with my girlfriend Ashley (best friend since 7th grade, is in a twisted way my cousin...she's family!) came home and went for a walk with my mom, then shopping with
Lil, and finally dinner with Dave. On Monday I had early morning coffee, then got ready and met my friend Seth (met him when I did Beauty and the Beast at Solano College) and then Seth and I drove the San Francisco to have lunch with Lil and do a little shopping, after that we drove home for dinner with the family, and then Wyn and I went on a midnight bike ride. So it was two full FULL days. It really was such a fun trip however short it may have been.

4) Then Brandon came home, I started a cleanse (which I'll write a whole separate blog about...there's just too much to say), and Karley left :(. Its been quite the full month, but a lovely one. When Brandon got back, we had about a day of adjusting till we were right back to our normal Brandon and Aubrey selves. It's nice to have my little domestic partner back.

5) Finally, this weekend was Brandon's birthday and we had quite the going out of Friday and Saturday nights! Friday after I got off work, we got ourselves ready and headed to Rocket over on 55th between 7th and Broadway where they have open bar from 10:00 to 11:00...great huh? I however had a bottle of mystery juice (the name we gave my lemonade  I  drank for the  cleanse) with  me at  all  times,
so there were no free drinks for me. After that we went to Therapy to ring in Brandon's actually day and then to Vlada where we ended the night. We stopped to grab pizza on the way home which is when I realized just how WAAAAAASTED Brandon was. I'm talking the drunkest I've ever seen him...it was amazing. I basically had to carry him home. He had the best birthday EVER!

Then on his actual birthday, I made him French Toast for breakfast,  and a fabulous cake for  the evening...that night
we had a few friends over for cake and drinks and then went out to paint the town which also turned into a super fun night! We went to HK and just danced all night...so fun. I'm glad it was a successful 24th birthday!

So there you have it...all caught up! At least I think that's the long and short of it. If I've missed anything of dire importance I'll be sure to post again. I'm also gonna make sure I keep on this blog thing better than I have been...SHEESH!

Till next time, XO!

I have readers...?

First I have to start by apologizing for not posting for quite some time. After we had the housewarming party Karley moved in, I started working, Brandon left, and well I guess blogging just slipped my mind. Also, I had no idea i had people reading my blog (thanks celest-sm, mom, Gui Viotti, etc.)! Wow, how fun! So I'm sorry to those of you that have been anxiously waiting to hear what came next.

Well I'm in Sonoma right now visiting my family and a few friends so I'm gonna make this a short one. I'm only home for two short days and trying to cram as much fun in as I can possibly squeeze! So here's a little update, I'll be sure to post again when I get back to the city complete with fun pictures...

We had a GREAT housewarming, Karley is now living in Brandon's room till the 3rd of May, craft night is still quite a success, I'm working back at a Starbucks, and I finally met up with my girlfriend Mia (friend from a show I did my first year of college...LOVE her!). So things are still going very well!

...And I promise I'll post again when I get back to the city...it may have to come in installments, but it will happen! Goodbye 'till then!
